Hi! I’m Vivian del Cid, lifestyle and event photographer. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I have a passion for the people and intensity that makes South Florida truly unique.
I’m fond of natural light, genuine moments, spending time with my amazing family, small talk, lunches with friends, creative details, writing, and finding splendor in simplicity.
As a child I received my first camera in early elementary school, a Kodak 110 Mickey-matic camera. I loved that camera to pieces, and it instilled in me a passion for photography that rivaled my love of people. I was inspired as a child by my father’s collection of tattered old Life magazines brimming with portraits shot by the famed female photographer Dorothea Lange. Lange once said, “I’ve never not been sure that I was a photographer any more than you would not be sure you were yourself. I was a photographer, or wanting to be a photographer, or beginning–but some phase of photographer I’ve always been.” I cannot describe the connection I have to photography anymore adeptly than that. As the years have progressed my equipment and technique has changed, but my fervor to find life’s quiet beauty hasn’t diminished.
My favorite thing about being a photographer is the people I work with. I love shooting unique and imaginative weddings, as well as portraits, families, celebrations, maternity shoots, and every day life– most importantly, I am devoted to telling your story and capturing your memories.
I married my high school sweetheart Victor, and we have four wonderful children, Vicente, Liam, Audrey and Nikolai. When I’m not busy photographing events or taking portraits, you can find me ferrying my children to and from school, catching up with friends over lunch, trying to fit in a workout, making sure schoolwork gets done, the house is tended and on Wednesday evenings – if I’m lucky – watching Nashville!
I’m most comfy in jeans, tank tops and flip-flops. I love good food, movies and books, as well as the daily stories my kids regale me with. I need a cup of black tea in the morning to get me on my feet, I value candor and a great sense of humor, the beauty of the South Florida sky, family movie nights, swimming, and those perfect summer nights where there’s a strong, warm wind blowing in. I am grateful for all the blessings in my life, and try not to take too much for granted.
