Melissa and John’s Sunset Maternity Session – Baby Makes Four!

When I was told John and Melissa were expecting their second child I was so thrilled for them! I’d done mini-sessions with their daughter Delaney, but we hadn’t done a full portrait session since their engagement photos in 2010. When Melissa told me she wanted maternity photos I was beyond excited!
The weather was overcast, hot and humid – in other words a typical south Florida summer evening – but Melissa, John and Laney were all in great spirits and their session is one of my all time favorite maternity shoots!
Jenny and Javi’s Wedding – Photobooth fun!

I had such a great time running a pop up photobooth at Jenny and Javier’s wedding! All the guests had a blast putting on different props and making silly faces. Photobooths definitely bring out the child in all of us! Even Jenny and Javi got in on the fun!

I’ve been photographing Jake for the last several years and I was so ecstatic to be taking his First Holy Communion photos. He is growing into such a bright young man, and it is always a pleasure to spend time with him.

Lissette wanted a maternity session for her second pregnancy. I like taking time not just to photograph the expectant mother, but the entire family. We were able to get some really sweet family photos of Lissette, her husband and oldest son during her shoot.
Veronica’s Very First Easter!

The Jorva family is always one of my favorites to photograph. From their engagement session to their wedding and maternity portraits, Annia is one of the most creative women I’ve met. She’s always bustling with fun new ideas to photograph her growing family. Her husband Alex is as sweet as can be and their girls, Juliet and Veronica are too pretty for words.
This Easter was baby Veronica’s first and I think we captured the soft, sugary sweetness of her infant smile and the joy she brings to her family.
Jo and Carlos – Ecstatically Expecting!

I met JoJo in high school. She was a bright, beautiful, outspoken girl back then and when she contacted me to take her maternity photos I was so excited to see her! She is even more gorgeous then she was as a teen, and one of the most stunning pregnant women I’ve ever photographed. The term ‘glowing’ doesn’t even do her justice, she looked ethereal.
Upon meeting her husband Carlos, it was obvious why they are such a perfect fit. They’re both hysterically funny, energetic people, and very much in love. The affection they feel for each other is palpable in many of the photos.
I think between all the laughter the three of us shared we managed to capture some truly meaningful photos of this special time in Jo and Carlos’ life. I can’t wait to meet their baby girl!
Tyler’s Fourth Birthday Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing Tyler for his fourth birthday. Talk about a well spoken little gentleman! He has to be, hands down, one of the most of polite preschoolers I’ve ever met.
I’ve known his mother Jackie since high school but she moved out of Florida a few years back and was visiting for the holidays. I was thrilled when she contacted me to photograph a special Mommy and me birthday session.
Jackie is one of the most energetic, positive people you can meet and it was touching to see what a terrific mother she is. I think we truly captured her and Tyler’s special bond.
Wedding Photos Featured in Washington Post’s Tale of Bravery

When I photographed Alex and Jason’s wedding I heard the minister describe how in the dead of winter Jason had jumped into an icy lake and saved him. When Mike Wise told this story in person he become understandably emotional.
It’s a modern day tale of bravery and self sacrifice, and I am beyond proud to have my photographs featured in this video on the Washington Post website. Link below.

Autumn leaves, Fall Memories

Autumn is the most gorgeous time of year – but if you’re a South Floridian you won’t notice much change. Sure the air might be a tad bit cooler, but the glorious jewel tones of autumn never shine through this far south. Luckily, in western North Carolina autumn is nature’s glorious gift before a chilly winter. On a family trip I was lucky enough to snap these photos before my Miami babies complained of the 40 degree weather.
A Romantic Renewal

Weddings are wonderful, but renewals have a special place in my heart. An act of rekindling love, appreciation, and adoration, renewals are always amazingly special.
It was lovely watching not just the bride and groom interact, but witnessing how much fun their family and friends were having too.
